Description of the excursion
We depart from Esquel to enjoy half-day or full-day outings accompanied by specialists from the Diucón Birdwatching Club, which operates in this region.
Midday outings can be enjoyed at the La Zeta Urban Nature Reserve, located just 4 km from downtown Esquel; at Brycham Lagoon, located on the outskirts of neighboring Trevelin; or at Terraplén Lagoon, located on the way to Los Alerces National Park, off Route 71.
Day trips also focus on the National Park, but it's also possible to head east for birdwatching in the Piedra Parada area and the Chubut River, in a steppe environment that also offers surprising diversity.
