Description of the excursion
We depart from the Esquel Valley, an ecotone zone, and enter the steppe region, skirting the entire Esquel Mountain Range and crossing the tracks of La Trochita (the narrow-gauge railway). We travel along the iconic Route 40 until we reach Estancia Leleque. There, we visit the Leleque Museum, where we can learn about the encounter between two cultures (the indigenous peoples and the "huinca," a term used to describe non-indigenous people) and life on the ranch. We continue our journey to the Comarca region, arriving at the El Bolsón Regional Fair, one of the largest in the area. There, you'll find a variety of handicrafts made from wood, silver, and stone, as well as various organic products (sweets, preserves, chocolates, alfajores, and natural cosmetics). While browsing the fair, you can enjoy a delicious lunch in the food court. We'll visit the Eduardo Lucio Geomuseo, a museum dedicated to planet Earth, with its unique collection of minerals, gems, and geological art, iconic rocks like the Malvinas Stone, and an interactive 4D model showing the evolution of the ages. Then we'll head to Lago Puelo National Park, where we'll hike along the lake's shores, enjoying the beautiful scenery.
We finish our tour in El Hoyo, depending on the time of year:
- In the Patagonia Labyrinth, the largest in South America, we challenge you to enter, get lost, and find your way.
exit. - At the Patagonia Wines vineyard and winery, where you are invited to delve into a world of flavors and aromas
unique to the different Patagonian strains.
Leaving here we returned to Esquel, watching the sunset on the iconic Route 40.
