Description of the excursion
This excursion combines the history, production, and landscapes that make Route 259 a unique destination in a single tour. It connects Esquel with Trevelin and the Chilean border.
The first stop on the tour is Trevelin, the Mill Village, the epicenter of Welsh culture in the region, where you can see the centuries-old Bethel Chapel and Trevelin's main square.
The route continues to the area of the Nant y Fall Waterfalls, a Protected Natural Area, with three waterfalls called: Larga, Mellizas and La Petiza, which are covered by a low-difficulty trail, accessible to people of all ages and physical conditions.
Then, you can explore the Tulip Field, where these flowers bloom in October, bathing the countryside in a variety of colors. The blue spring sky and the still-snow-capped peaks create an ideal backdrop for photography.
Continuing the tour toward Chile, we come to the Nant Fach Mill, a replica of the old flour mills from the early 20th century, when this valley produced high-quality wheat. We'll visit the museum, where you can see artifacts that were part of the daily life of the early Welsh.
